Hounds Receiving Votes in D3baseball.com Top 25 Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The Moravian College baseball team, winners of seven straight games, has received 10 points in this week's D3baseball.com Top 25 Poll, the sixth poll of the regular season.

The Greyhounds are 13-4 overall this spring after Monday's 10-4 victory over Misericordia University, and have received a vote in four of the six regular season polls as well as the preseason poll; however, the 10 points this week are the most for Moravian this season. The 10 points put the Hounds in a tie for 10th of the 27 teams receiving votes outside of the Top 25.

Moravian has played an extremely competitive schedule this season with six of their first 19 games against teams currently receiving votes or earlier this season. The Hounds have another six games on the schedule with squads receiving votes this week including a three-game Landmark Conference series this weekend at Gillespie Field versus Susquehanna University, which has four points in the poll.

The Greyhounds have defeated then No. 17 Keystone College, 8-5, during the opening week of the season, and the Hounds also defeated then No. 25 Adrian (Mich.) College, 9-8 in 10 innings in Florida. Moravian swept a twin bill from Heidelberg (Ohio) University, 16-14 in 13 innings and 18-4, in Florida as well and Heidelberg is ranked No. 20 this week. Misericordia was ranked in the preseason Top 25 and during the first two weeks of the season, and Hampden-Sydney (Va.) College, which defeated the Hounds 12-7 back in February, is five points ahead of Moravian in receiving votes this week.

In addition to the series with Susquehanna, the Greyhounds have games scheduled at No. 3 Kean (N.J.) University on April 15, at Alvernia University, which is receiving votes, on April 23 and at home versus No. 10 Rowan (N.J.) University on May 9.

Moravian will close out its Landmark Conference series with Juniata College that was postponed over the weekend on Tuesday, April 1 with a doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m. in Huntingdon.
