Baseball Remains 1st in Mid-Atlantic Region in Lastest NCAA Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian College baseball team remained first in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the second NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the 2014 season released Thursday.

The Greyhounds are 29-8 overall with a 9-3 mark against other teams ranked in this week's poll. Moravian has wins over Kean (N.J.) University (ranked third in the Mid-Atlantic Region), Keystone College (ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic), DeSales University (ranked eighth in the Mid-Atlantic) and Adrian (Mich.) College (ranked eighth in the Mideast Region).

The Hounds are also 2-0 versus Heidelberg (Ohio) University (first in the Mideast), 2-1 versus Susquehanna University (seventh in the Mid-Atlantic) and 1-1 versus John Carroll (Ohio) University (seventh in the Mideast). Moravian has also lost a game at Alvernia University (fifth in the Mid-Atlantic), and the Greyhounds will finish the 2014 regular season on Friday, May 9 with a home game versus Rowan (N.J.), currently second in the Mid-Atlantic right behind the Hounds at 28-8.

Moravian is the top seed in the 2014 Landmark Conference Tournament after a 14-4 regular season mark in conference action, and the Greyhounds will host the four-team, double-elimination tournament at Gillespie Field from May 3-5. The Hounds will battle fourth seed The United States Merchant Marine Academy in the opening game on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
