Hounds Shut Out William Paterson for First Win of 2024 Campaign

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey team recorded a 1-0 shutout victory over visiting William Paterson University in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The two squads played a scoreless first half
  • The Greyhounds netted what was the only goal of the contest just under three minutes into the third quarter as junior forward Gia Ambrosino knocked a pass from senior forward Marianna Crisafulli into the cage

Inside the Numbers

  • Ambrosino's goal was her team-leading third of the season and the 11th of her career
  • Crisafulli earned her first assist of the fall and second of her career
  • Sophomore goalie Maia Machado registered five saves for her first shutout of the season and fifth of her career
  • The Hounds held an 18-6 edge in shots and a 25-1 advantage in penalty corners
