Hounds Fall to Goucher in Landmark Action to End Regular Season

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad closed out the 2024 regular season with a 1-0 loss at Goucher College in Landmark Conference action.

How It Happened

  • The Gophers had a 3-2 edge in shots and a 3-2 advantage in penalty corners in the first 15 minutes of action; however, neither team scored
  • The Hounds recorded a 2-0 edge in both shots and corners in the second quarter, but the match was scoreless at halftime
  • Moravian posted a 4-2 advantage in shots and a 2-0 on corners in the third quarter as well as the match remained scoreless
  • Goucher netted the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute with an unassisted goal

Inside the Numbers

  • Sophomore goalie Maia Machado made one save in 15 minutes of action while junior goalie Jessica Knox recorded two saves in the final 45 minutes of play
  • Goucher had a 10-9 advantage in shots while the Blue & Grey registered an 8-4 edge in shots on goal and a 9-5 edge in penalty corners
