BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey team clinched a home match in the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament with a 2-1 overtime victory over visiting Juniata College Saturday afternoon on Senior Day on John Makuvek Field.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring in the eighth minute as senior defender Lexi Dinsmore blasted a long shot into the goal on a penalty corner
- The Eagles answered early in the second quarter to even the score at 1-1
- Neither squad was able to score in the third of fourth quarters
- Moravian needed just 3:35 of the first overtime to net the game winner. Junior forward Gia Ambrosino inserted a penalty corner to Dinsmore, who drilled another shot into the cage
- Prior to the start of the match, the Greyhounds honored seniors Sydney Anderson, Devyn Calas, Marianna Crisafulli, Lexi Dinsmore and Savannah Sutter on Senior Day
Inside the Numbers
- Dinsmore now has four goals this season and in her career while Ambrosino earned her third assist of 2024 and fourth of her career
- Sophomore goalie Maia Machado recorded a pair of saves in the victory
- Moravian had a 13-6 advantage in shots and a 14-1 edge in penalty corners
- The Greyhounds have clinched a home contest in the Landmark Conference Tournament for the second straight fall and the third time in four seasons
