LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Moravian University junior pitcher/right fielder Sarah DeStefano has been honored with a spot on the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-America Second Team announced at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship Finals banquet in Bloomington, Illinois.
DeStefano helped the Greyhounds to a 40-9 record this season as Moravian tied the school record for victories and reached the postseason for the 30th straight spring and the second consecutive season under the guidance of third-year Head Coach Josh Baltz with the Hounds earning the top seed in the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament after a 13-3 mark in the conference's regular season. Moravian would capture its 12th Landmark Conference title and make its 21st trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament this year with the Hounds hosting an NCAA Regional for the second straight year at Blue & Grey Field. The Hounds captured their seventh NCAA Division III Regional title and went on to the program's fourth NCAA Division III Super Regional, hosting for the first time.
DeStefano's award gives Moravian a total of ten student-athletes that have received 14 NFCA All-American honors. She is the fourth Greyhound pitcher to be selected as an All-American.
This spring, DeStefano was selected as the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year while making All-Conference First Team as well as the NFCA All-Region V First Team. DeStefano is a two-time NCAA Division III Regional Most Outstanding Player, garnering the award at the 2025 Bethlehem (Pa.) and 2023 Medford (Mass.) Regionals. She was on the 2024 Landmark All-Conference Second Team as an outfielder and the 2023 Landmark All-Conference Second Team as a pitcher while earning Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman.

We ask a lot of Sarah on the softball field—but one thing has always been constant: whenever she steps into the circle, we know exactly what we're getting. This year, she approached the game with a new mindset—focusing on what she could control and playing with passion and joy. It was fun to watch her this season, and I'm incredibly proud of everything she's accomplished and the person she continues to become."
DeStefano recorded a 1.07 earned run average this season in the circle with a 22-4 record, 10 shutouts, a save, 24 complete games and 142 strikeouts in 177, and she had a .392 batting average this season with 31 hits, six doubles, two triples and 21 RBIs at the plate. She also had 33 putouts and 49 assists in 82 chances in the field this spring.
In three seasons, DeStefano is 40-9 in the circle with a save, 14 shutouts, 241 strikeouts and a 1.59 ERA in 330.1 innings despite missing most of the 2024 season in the circle due to an injury, and she has 109 hits, 43 runs, ten doubles, four triples, 18 stolen bases, 56 RBIs and a .378 average at the plate. DeStefano has 103 putouts and 107 assists in 214 career chances in the field while playing in right field and pitching.
DeStefano is also a two-time selection to the College Sports Communicators Division III Academic All-District Team and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.
