Women's Tennis Falls to Regionally-Ranked Ohio Northern

TAMPA, Fla. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team fell to regionally-ranked Ohio Northern University, 7-2, at the Spring Break Tennis Tampa match play at the University of Tampa Tuesday morning.

Moravian earned a point at second doubles when senior Katie Zien and freshman Brittney Eady combined for an 8-4 victory as the duo improved to 9-0 in dual matches this season. The Polar Bears, ranked 13th in the Central Region in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, captured the other two doubles contests for a 2-1 advantage heading into singles play.

The Greyhounds would earn their other point in singles action when sophomore Courtnie Lambert picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at sixth singles. Moravian almost had another point in singles action as senior Melissa Follett forced a third set at first singles before dropping the final set in a 10-point tiebreaker, 10-8.

Moravian continues its trip in Tampa on Wednesday, March 5 when the squad plays the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) in a match at Hillsborough Community College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
