Women's Tennis Tops Juniata to Remain Undefeated in Landmark

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis squad remained undefeated in Landmark Conference action with a 6-3 victory at Juniata College Wednesday.

The Greyhounds, now 12-2 overall and 3-0 in Landmark action, led 2-1 after the doubles action. Senior Katie Zien and freshman Brittney Eady earned an 8-6 win at second doubles while freshmen Julia Atiyeh and Selina Ocasio were victorious by the same score at third doubles.

Moravian won the top three singles matches to earn their 12th win of the season. Senior Melissa Follett won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, at first singles while Eady had a 7-5, 6-3 win at second singles. Zien also won in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at third singles. The Hounds' final point game from Ocasio, who posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles. Senior Erica Venuti played the longest match of the afternoon before falling at fourth singles, 6-7 (6-8), 6-0, 1-0 (10-6).

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, April 5 in another Landmark match. The Hounds will travel to Washington, D.C. to the Catholic University of America for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
