Glass, Leonard Win Events at Covert Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Freshman Corinne Glass and senior Micah Leonard captured events to lead the Moravian College women's indoor track & field team at the 21st John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University Saturday.

Glass won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:01.58, and she was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in 27.08 seconds. Leonard captured the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.48 meters (17 feet, 11 3/4 inches), and she was second in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 11.63 meters (38 feet, two inches).

Junior Allison Vanek placed second in the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying height of 3.65 meters (11 feet, 11 3/4 inches) while sophomore Hailey Kester took fifth in the event with an ECAC qualifying mark of 3.50 meters (11 feet, 5 3/4 inches).

Sophomore Morgan Redmond had an ECAC qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles as she placed seventh in 9.43 seconds, and Redmond was eighth in the 60-meter dash in 8.23 seconds. Sophomore Brielle Sutter was fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.67.

Senior Emma Pacheco placed eighth in the 5,000-meter run in 21:01.46 while junior Jennifer Parodi took sixth in the 1,000-meter run in 3:42.91. Sophomore Jessie Goldberg was tenth in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 11:12.13.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, February 8th in the Lafayette College-Rider University Winter Games at the New York City Armory.
