Track & Field Opens Up Indoor Season Today

BETHLHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College men and women's indoor track & field team opens its 2012-13 season today at the Lehigh University Season Opener. Both Greyhound squads are picked to repeat as Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Champions.

The men's squad returns senior Donald Noble, the 2012 Landmark Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, and sophomore Dillon Farrell, the 2012 Outdoor Rookie of the Year in the distance events. Seniors Jonathan Heberling and Travis King along with junior Kristopher Joint have all won Landmark titles in the jumps both indoors and outdoors to anchor Moravian's jumping squad.

Sophomore Travis Dorsa and juniors Yacine Zerdoum and Craig Arner will lead the sprints and hurdles for the Greyhounds while junior Timothy Lorah and sophomores Jeffrey Gallagher and Andrew Loehwing head the throwing squad for Moravian.

The women's squad returns senior All-American jumper Micah Leonard from last season. Sophomore sprinter Brielle Sutter won both the 200 and 400-meter dashes both indoors and outdoors at the conference meets in 2012 while sophomores Morgan Redmond and Brianna Wright also return to lead the sprints and hurdles team.

Sophomores Claire Del Casale and Emily Lambright will head the distance runners for Moravian while junior Alison Vanek is the top returning pole vaulter along with sophomore Hailey Kester. Leading the way for throws will be sophomores Jenny Kratch and Allissa Hoffman this winter.
