Track & Field Teams Regionally Ranked for 6th Straight Week

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College men's & women's track & field teams are both ranked in the Mideast Region in the sixth NCAA Division III Regional Team Index of the 2013 indoor season released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday. The Greyhound women are ranked third while men moved up to sixth place in the top-ten regional rankings.

The Greyhound women, who were second in the region the last two weeks, have a total of 123.23 points. Johns Hopkins University is currently first in the Mideast Region with 381.64 while Lebanon Valley College is second at 150.49 points and Elizabethtown College is fourth at 118.37 points.

The Greyhound men have a total of 136.54 points, falling to sixth after being fourth last week as well as 21st in the nation a week ago. Haverford College leads the Mideast Region with 264.57 points while Carnegie Mellon University is second at 226.69 points. Salisbury University holds down the third spot with 155.41 points while Messiah College is fourth with 149.50 points and Johns Hopkins is fifth with 143.32 points.

Moravian will return to action on Friday and Saturday, March 1st and 2nd when the Greyhounds travel to the 2013 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships being hosted at the New York City Armory. The meet is the last chance to reach the top 16 individually and top 12 in relay events and qualify for next weekend's NCAA Division III National Championship meet.
