Men Finish 35th at 2013 ECAC DIII Indoor Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team finished 35th of 51 schools earning a point at the 2013 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Rutgers-Newark at the New York City Armory.

The Greyhounds had a team score of seven points while SUNY Cortland won the team title with 59 points. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute was second with 48 points while SUNY Oneonta took third with 46 points.

Moravian had two competitors on the second day of competition with senior Jonathan Heberling and junior David Cariello competing in the long jump. Both Greyhounds had a distance of 6.30 meters (20 feet, eight inches) in the meet with Heberling finishing 12th and Cariello 13th based on their second best jump. Heberling recorded a distance of 6.29 meters in his first jump of the competition while Cariello had a second best distance of 6.08 meters.

The Greyhounds will return to action next weekend, Friday, March 8th and Saturday, March 9th with competitors heading to the 2013 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships hosted by North Central (Ill.) College. The full field of qualifiers will be announced Monday.
