Lorah Tops Collegians in Javelin at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior Timothy Lorah of the Moravian College men's track & field team had the top distance among college student-athletes in the javelin Friday in the Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track & Rocco Calvo Field.

Lorah had a top throw and ECAC qualifying mark of 65.68 meters (215 feet, six inches) on his second attempt, a distance that moves him to third on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list that will have the top 20 individuals and top 16 relay teams at the end of the season in each event heading to the NCAA Division III National Championships at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Lorah had the third best distance in the meet but was the top college student-athlete as the top two marks were recorded by unattached athletes that have completed their eligibility. Lorah's throw is the ninth best in Moravian history.

Senior Tyler Potterton was fifth among the college student-athletes with a toss of 56.64 meters (185 feet, ten inches) on his first attempt while freshman Kyle Conners was sixth at 53.29 meters (174 feet, ten inches) on his fourth throw of the meet.

In the hammer throw, senior Phillip Torres has Moravian's top mark at 39.17 meters (128 feet, six inches) while sophomore Kyle Kersting had a toss of 33.79 meters (110 feet, ten inches).

The second day of the Greyhound Invitational will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20th.
