Four Greyhounds Named to Landmark Winter All-Academic Team

2013 Landmark Conference Winter All-Academic Team

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Travis King (Wilmington, Del./Concord HS) and juniors David Cariello (Morristown, N.J./Morristown HS), Laura Jordan (Easton, Pa./Easton HS) and Katie O'Rourke (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra HS) have been named to the 2013 Landmark Conference Winter All-Academic Team.

A total of 32 Landmark Conference student-athletes were named to the Winter All-Academic Team. Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark fall sports and must be a sophomore or older with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The senior class was the most represented on the All-Academic Team with 14 selections. The remaining positions were taken by 13 juniors and five sophomores. In addition, all six winter sports sponsored by the Landmark Conference are represented with at least one selection and five are repeat selections after being honored previously. The Landmark Conference will select an All-Academic Team for each of the three athletics seasons during the year.

Cariello earned First Team All-Landmark honors in his first year with the Greyhounds indoor track & field team. He won the 60 meter hurdles and pole vault while helping Moravian win its fifth Landmark team title. Cariello, who is majoring in computer science with minors in business management and economics, was recently named to the Landmark Academic Honor Roll.

Jordan had her best season for the Greyhounds as she and O'Rourke helped the team to a 22-7 record and a postseason berth for the 13th straight year. Jordan averaged 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this winter, and she was second on the team with 58 blocks to go along with 27 assists and 27 steals. Jordan, who is majoring in psychology and early childhood education, has been a member of the Dean's List every semester and she is a two-time member of the Landmark Academic Honor Roll.

King earned Second Team All-Landmark honors this year as he finished as runner-up in the triple jump and the 4x200 meter relay. He helped the Greyhounds claim their fifth indoor team title. King, who is majoring in business management, is also a five-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll recipient and three-time member of the Dean's List.

O'Rourke was named Women's Basketball First Team All-Landmark this winter. She ranked second on the team in scoring with 11.0 points per game and led the Greyhounds with 129 assists and 69 steals. O'Rourke, who is majoring in mathematics and secondary education, is a three-time member of the Dean's List and a two-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll recipient.
