King Leads Greyhound Men at York Twilight

YORK, Pa. --- Senior Travis King posted a career long to win the triple jump to lead the Moravian College men's track & field team at the non-scoring York College of Pennsylvania Thursday evening.

King set a Graham Field record with an ECAC qualifying leap of 14.52 meters (47-7 3/4 inches), a distance that moves him to eighth on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list that will have the top 20 individuals and top 16 relay teams at the end of the season in each event heading to the NCAA Division III National Championships at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Moravian had two other ECAC qualifying marks in the meet with senior Tyler Potterton winning the javelin with a toss of 58.40 meters (191 feet, seven inches) and freshman Ryan Karnopp was second in the pole vault clearing a height of 4.50 meters (14 feet, nine inches).

Sophomore Chris Ossont finished as the runner-up to King in the triple jump at 13.00 meters (42 feet, eight inches) while junior David Cariello was third in the pole vault at 4.20 meters (13 feet, 9 1/4 inches).

Sophomore Parker Munson was third in the discus with a toss of 127 feet, seven inches) while junior Frank Yannotta was seventh at 35.14 meters (115 feet, three inches). Munson also finished eighth in the shot put with a toss of 12.57 meters (41 feet, three inches) while Yannotta took ninth at 11.74 meters (38 feet, 6 1/4 inches).

On the track, sophomore Travis Dorsa won the 400-meter dash in 50.88 seconds while freshman Tyler Dwyer was sixth in 52.33 seconds. Freshman Albert Myers took fifth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.84 seconds.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Meet on Monday, May 13th starting at 4:00 p.m. being hosted by Widener University.
