Greyhounds Post 4 ECAC Marks; Zerdoum Wins 400 at Covert

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior Yacine Zerdoum captured the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 50.82 seconds to lead the Moravian College men's indoor track & field team that posted four ECAC qualifying marks at the non-scoring 21st John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University Saturday.

Senior Travis King was the runner-up in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 14.22 meters (46 feet, eight inches) while freshman Jason Fuehring was fifth at 13.37 meters (43 feet, 10 1/2 inches) and sophomore Chris Ossont finished ninth at 12.12 meters (39 feet, 9 1/4 inches). Senior Jonathan Heberling took sixth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 6.74 meters (22 feet, 1 1/2 inches) while junior David Cariello was seventh with an ECAC mark of 6.70 meters (21 feet, 11 3/4 inches).

Freshman Ryan Karnopp finished third in the pole vault, clearing 4.30 meters (14 feet, 1 3/4 inches) while freshman Chris Voda tied for sixth in the event at a heigth of 4.00 meters (13 feet, 1 1/2 inches).

On the track, Cariello was the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.69 seconds while senior Donald Noble was third in the mile run with a time of 4:28.04. Freshman Albert Myers placed fifth in the 60-meter dash in 7.28 seconds while senior Justin Taylor was tenth in the event in 7.36 seconds. Freshman John Barr was sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.62 seconds.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, February 8th in the Lafayette College-Rider University Winter Games at the New York City Armory.
