Three Greyhounds Win Events at Orange & Maroon Classic

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team returned to action after seven weeks between competitions and had three event champions at the Susquehanna University Orange & Maroon Classic Friday night.

Senior Jonathan Heberling captured the high jump with a leap of 1.82 meters (five feet, 11 1/2 inches) while senior Travis King won the triple jump at an ECAC qualifying leap of 13.74 meters (45 feet, one inch). Senior Donald Noble finished first in the mile run in a time of 4:26.26.

Junior Kristopher Joint was the runner-up in both the long jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 6.72 meters (22 feet, 3/4 inch) and in the triple jump at another ECAC qualifying mark of 13.70 meters (44 feet, 11 1/2 inches). Heberling was fifth in the long jump at 6.31 meters (20 feet, 8 1/2 inches) while freshman Albert Myers was sixth in the long jump at 6.12 meters (20 feet, one inch) and tenth in the triple jump at 12.12 meters (39 feet, 9 1/4 inches).

Sophomore Chris Ossont took ninth in the triple jump at 12.14 meters (39 feet, ten inches) while freshman Ryan Karnopp was fourth in the pole vault at 3.95 meters (12 feet, 11 1/2 inches). Junior Timothy Lorah finished seventh in the shot put with a toss of 13.22 meters (43 feet, 4 1/2 inches).

On the track, junior Yacine Zerdoum was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.76 seconds while freshman David Cariello was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.16 seconds after a time of 9.00 seconds in the preliminaries. Moravian's 4x200-meter relay squad of Myers, Zerdoum, freshman John Barr and freshman Gavin Bailey finished fourth with a time of 1:35.93.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, January 26th at the Thomson Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware.
