Sutter Helps Greyhounds Tie for 15th at ECAC Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Sophomore Brielle Sutter competed in three events and turned in a pair of top ten times to lead the Moravian College women's track & field team to a tie for 15th place at the 2013 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield College Friday.

The Greyhounds were tied for 15th of 57 schools scoring a point with Bates College as both schools scored 17 points. Rowan University won the team title with 63 points while Wheaton (Mass.) College was second with 57 points and Tufts University finished third with 52 points.

Sutter earned three points for Moravian with a sixth place finish in the 400-meter dash in 57.26 seconds, the second fastest time in school history. Sutter and freshman Corinne Glass each ran times of 25.46 seconds in the 200-meter dash to tie for 12th, and the time is tied for the tenth fastest in school history.

Sutter and Glass were joined by sophomore Morgan Redmond and freshman Christelle Reglas in the 4x100-meter relay, and the quartet finished tenth in a season-best time of 49.15 seconds. Redmond also placed 26th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.95.

Senior Micah Leonard was 11th in the long jump with a leap of 5.42 meters (17 feet, 9 1/2 inches).

Moravian will find out on Sunday how many competitors will be heading to The University of Wisconsin La Crosse for the NCAA Division III Championships beginning on Thursday, May 23rd.
