Leonard and Redmond Earn Landmark Track & Field Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – Senior Micah Leonard and sophomore Morgan Redmond of the Moravian College women's track & field team were named the Landmark Conference Track & Field Athletes of the Week. This is Leonard's fourth time earning Landmark Field Athlete of the Week.

Leonard earned the Field Athlete of the Week after setting the school and Landmark Conference record in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 11.82 meters (38 feet, 9 ½ inches). Leonard's distance is tied for fifth in the nation in the event on the Track & Field Results Reporting System national list. Leonard was also fifth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.50 meters (18 feet, ½ inch), which would be 14th in the nation on the TFRRS list, but Leonard already owns the ninth spot on the TFRRS list.

Redmond garnered the Track Athlete of the Week after posting an ECAC qualifying mark of 9.42 second in the 60-meter hurdles at the Princeton University Invitational Saturday. Redmond was also a part of the 4x400 meter relay that took third place after posting an ECAC qualifying time of 4:06.22.

Moravian will return to action Saturday, February 23rd as the squad looks to win its sixth Landmark Conference championship in the 2013 meet hosted by Susquehanna University starting at 10 a.m.
