Rock & Mariano Named Landmark Baseball Players of the Week

Landmark Conference Players of the Week

MADISON, N.J. – Senior designated hitter Austin Rock of the Moravian College baseball team was named Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of February 27th while sophomore pitcher Thomas Mariano as honored as Landmark Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Rock excelled at the plate as the Greyhounds opened the season with two wins in three games. He had a .643 (9-for-14) batting average to go with one home run and four doubles. Rock knocked in nine runs while scoring seven of his own. He slugged 1.143 for the week.

Mariano opened the 2012 season with a complete-game victory over Franklin & Marshall College. He went nine innings, allowing one run on nine hits while striking out five.

Moravian returns to action tomorrow, February 28th as they travel to nationally-ranked #3 Kean University for a non-conference game. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
