Senior Dave Zubia Earns Conference Player of the Week Honors

MADISON, N.J. – Senior shortstop Dave Zubia of the Moravian College baseball team earned Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors for the week of April 16th.

Zubia powered the Greyhounds offense to a 4-1 week, including a series victory over Landmark rival Scranton. He had ten hits in 13 at-bats in the three-game series against Scranton, and for the week hit .619 with a 1.333 slugging percentage. Seven of his ten hits against Scranton went for extra bases with four doubles, two triples and a home run. For the week, Zubia notched 13 hits, six doubles, three triples, a home run and six RBIs. He also scored ten runs, walked once and stole a pair of bases.

This spring, Zubia has a team-best .424 (53-for-125) batting average and 48 runs scored to go with his 31 RBIs, 15 walks, 14 stolen bases, 13 doubles, three triples and two home runs. He's also slugging .624 and has an on-base percentage of .523.

Moravian returns to action on Tuesday, April 17th for a non-conference contest versus DeSales University. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Limeport Stadium.
