LaPLUME, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's basketball squad rallied from a four-points deficit with a second half run and good long-distance shooting to earn a 75-69 victory in non-conference action at Keystone College Saturday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored the first point of the game as graduate student guard Danny Cooper drained a free throw for an administrative technical before the opening tip-off. The Giants drilled a three-pointer on the first possession of the game while freshman forward Marquis Ratcliff hit a lay-up to knot the score at 3-3. Keystone ran off nine straight points before Ratcliff tallied again at the 16-minute mark to make it 12-5. The Giants would push their advantage out to 10 points at 24-14 with 10:51 left in the opening half
  • The Hounds made it 26-19 on a three-pointer from sophomore guard/forward Michael Leonardo, and the Blue and Grey got within four points at 30-26 on a three-pointer by junior guard Alex Dietz with 5:27 until the intermission. Moravian made it a two-point contest at 32-30 after a lay-up from sophomore forward Nate Santiago at the 3:13 mark, and freshman guard Porter Kelly had the Greyhounds within a point at 34-33 after a three-pointer with 2:23 to go. The Giants scored the final three points of the half to head to the locker room with a 37-33 edge
  • Cooper began the second half with a three-pointer and Ratcliff followed with a lay-up as the Hounds took their first lead since before the opening tip at 38-37 just over a minute into the second half. The contest would be tied three times before Moravian moved in front, 47-42, on a three-pointer by Kelly and a dunk from Ratcliff after a steal with 15:21 to play. Junior forward Mike DiPietro hit a lay-up midway through the half that had the Greyhounds leading 53-47 with ten minutes remaining
  • On the Blue & Grey's next possession, Cooper connected on a three-pointer to extend the advantage to seven points at 56-49. Three-pointers from Kelly and DiPietro had the edge at nine points, 62-53, with just under eight minutes to play. Moravian's advantage hit double figures on a three-pointer from Kelly, and the lead reached 12 points twice, the final team at 67-55 on a Ratcliff lay-up with 6:10 remaining. The Giants netted seven straight points to pull within 67-62 before Ratcliff drained a pair of free throws with 2:56 on the clock to stop the run
  • Keystone went on another run to pull within two points at 69-67 before Ratcliff sank another pair of free throws with 1:18 to play and push the advantage back to four points. Cooper then drained two free throws with 10 seconds left to seal the victory, and two more with just before the final buzzer to finish the scoring
