Hounds Welcome Back Men's Basketball Alumni for Annual Game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's basketball program hosted its annual Alumni game in Johnston Hall Saturday morning prior to the Greyhounds' Landmark Conference game versus Elizabethtown College.

First-year Head coach Darryl Keckler welcomed 19 former Greyhounds back. The Grey squad came out on top with a 80-62 victory.

Returning to Johnston Hall were Rich Yaldizian '75, Mike Frew '03, Todd Solecito '06, Ryan Miller '08, Chris Cullen '11, Jeff Cullinan '12, Mark Koelbel '12, Garrett Johnson '13, D.J. Strayhorn '13, Aaron Thieme '13, Mike Weinert '13, Kenny Gula '14, Aaron Brown '15, Izel Dickerson '15, Brandon McGuire '17, Matt Cardone '18, Kahlil Rhett '18, C.J. Barnes '20 and Mike Martino '20.

Barnes, Dickerson, McGuire, Miller and Strayhorn are members of Moravian's 1,000-point club.

Former coaches Jim Walker, Ron Hoffman and Dennis Robinson '68 also attended the Alumni game.

Later in the day during the Greyhounds, contest with Elizabethtown, Moravian recognized the 1982-83 men's basketball team, which was celebrating the 40th anniversary of the program's first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance and a 19-8 overall record. Attending the game were varsity players Ken Dempsey, Moravian Hall of Fame member Jim Walters,Keith Martin, Doug Blake, Nick Martini, Al Strouse, Jim Shiffert, Moravian Hall of Fame member Mike Arner, Jeff Smith, John Morris, Team Captain Mike Link, junior varsity players Scott Hoke and Bob Hoag, and coaches Jim Walker and Dennis Robison. Unable to attend were players Peter Cohen and Bucky McCracken and coach Larry Olsheski.
