Moravian Drops Landmark Conference Contest at Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian University men's basketball squad dropped an 82-60 decision at The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds opened the scoring with a lay-up from sophomore guard/forward Michael Leonardo nearly two and a half minutes into action. The Cardinals would net the game's next 13 points to take control at 13-2
  • The Hounds closed within seven points at 21-14 after a three-pointer from freshman forward Uma Kalu at the 7:12 mark. However, Catholic pushed the advantage back to double digits and headed to the locker room with a 44-26 edge
  • The Cardinals led the entire second half with the bulge getting up to 31 points midway through the half 

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had a pair of players in double figures with Kalu netting a career high 14 points to go with a career best six blocked shots and our rebounds. Freshman forward Marquis Ratcliff added 12 points and eight board
  • Junior guard Alex Dietz scored seven points to go with three rebounds while sophomore forward Nate Santiago also had seven points to go along with a team-high 10 rebounds
  • Leonardo recorded six points, two rebounds and two assists while junior guard Filippo Baldo has five points. Junior guard C.J. Weber added four points, four rebounds and two assists while freshman guard Joe Dupuis had three points and junior forward Mike DiPietro had two points and two boards
  • Freshman guard Porter Kelly added five boards while senior guard Nate Dougherty posted three rebounds and three assists
  • The Hounds were 21-for-62 from the field, 6-for-23 beyond the three-point line and 12-for-16 at the foul line with Kalu going 7-for-7 at the charity stripe
