McMullan Reaches 200 Career Points But Greyhounds Fall to Drew in Landmark Conference Action

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College senior midfielder Meaghan McMullan became the third player in women's lacrosse program history to reach 200 career points but the Greyhounds came up short, falling to Drew University, 13-9, in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening. 

How It Happened

  • The Rangers opened the scoring two and a half minutes into action before McMullan netted her 153rd career goal for her 200th career point just 45 seconds later. Drew netted four of the next five goals to build a 5-2 lead. Junior midfielder Lindsey Strohl had a hat trick before the end of the half and McMullan netted her 18th goal of the season with a little over two minutes until the intermission as the Greyhounds trailed 7-5 at halftime
  • Strohl tallied her fourth goal of the evening just over four minutes into the second half as the Hounds got within a goal at 7-6. The Rangers responded with four of the next five goals to pull ahead 11-7 with 18:28 to go. McMullan and Strohl each scored one more time as the Blue and Grey made it a two-goal match, 11-9, with 11:36 remaining; however, Drew scored the final to markers to set the four-goal final margin 

Inside the Numbers

  • Strohl led Moravian with five goals, doubling her tally for the first three matches, while McMullan led the Greyhounds with seven points on three goals and four assists. McMullan now has 206 points on 155 goals and 51 assists as she joined Jillian Picciuto '19 (390 points) and Liz Bill '20 (273 points) in the 200-point club
  • Sophomore attack Devin King scored the Hounds' other goal while senior attack Danielle Sullivan had two assists
  • McMullan also had three ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers while junior defender Samantha Cherenson had three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Strohl and senior defender Olivia Clearie both had three draw controls
  • Sophomore goalie Brelyn Friedman registered 12 saves for the Greyhounds to go with a three ground balls
