Hounds Selected as Third in Landmark Coaches Poll

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team was selected to finish third in the Landmark Conference Coaches Preseason Poll. The Greyhounds garnered 51 votes overall.

Taking first in the poll was Juniata College, which received seven first-place votes and 78 points overall while Goucher College took the remaining two first-place votes and tallied 68 votes overall.

The Blue and Grey return five players from last season's ECAC DIII Men's Tennis Outdoor Championship winning team. They also return Landmark Conference All-Conference First Team members Matt Tuorto and John Wylie, who were named to the doubles team together while Tuorto was named All-Conference First Team in singles as well.

"The men's team will be in the thick of the competition. They are competitive with any team in the league and we expect to see many close matches both at the individual and team level," stated first year Head Coach Alan Heverly. "The championship will probably come down to who plays well on the important days and who doesn't! For that reason I think we have as much chance as any other team of winning it all."

After beating Summit University earlier this week the Greyhounds have opened the season 3-0. Over spring break the Blue and Grey will be heading to Orlando, Florida to play a total of four matches starting on Sunday, March 6 versus Roger Williams (R.I.) College.
