Demyan Named Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College freshman Peter Demyan has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Demyan helped the Greyhounds begin the spring portion of the season with a 1-1 record. Playing at sixth singles, Demyan won his singles contest in straight sets and combined with sophomore David Wilson for a win at third doubles in Moravian's 8-1 win at Summit University last Tuesday. Demyan then added a straight sets singles triumph as the Greyhounds opened their Spring Break trip to the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando with a 7-2 loss to Roger Williams (R.I.) University.

"Peter showed very much poise last week and played smart tennis," commented first-year Head Coach Alan Heverly. "He's certainly deserving of the Athlete of the Week."

Moravian is now 4-1 overall after defeating Regis (Mass.) College on Monday, March 7 in a morning match, and the Hounds have two other matches slated for the week at the Lake Cane Tennis Center with the next contest scheduled for Tuesday, March 8 versus Clark (Mass.) University at 12:30 p.m.
