Hounds Top Messiah, 6-2, to Finish Spring Break in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team finished its Spring Break trip to Orlando with a 6-2 non-conference win over Messiah College Wednesday morning.

Playing the singles action first, the Greyhounds led 4-2 after the six matches were completed. Senior Matt Tuorto earned a three-set victory at first singles while senior John Wylie won in straight sets at second singles. Senior C.J. Widdifield also had a straight sets triumph at fourth singles while freshman Peter Demyan earned a two-set victory at sixth singles.

Moravian picked up a pair of wins in the two doubles matches that were finished before the time limit ran out on the courts to begin the next match. Tuorto and Wylie remained undefeated at first doubles this season at 8-0 and extended their school career win total to 47 with a 6-1 victory while Demyan and sophomore David Wilson had a 6-2 win at third doubles.

The Hounds, now 5-2 on the year, are not scheduled to play again until they open their 2016 Landmark Conference season on Friday, March 25 in a 1:00 p.m. match at Juniata College.
