Greyhounds Sweep Neumann for 3rd Straight Win

ASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team won its third straight match as the Greyhounds posted a 9-0 sweep at Neumann University Tuesday afternoon as the Greyhounds improved to 9-4 on the season.

In doubles action, the tandem of seniors Matt Tuorto and John Wylie, already the school record holders in career doubles wins, earned their 50th career victory with an 8-0 triumph at first doubles. Senior C.J. Widdifield and junior Giovanni Lombardi also had an 8-0 win at second doubles while Moravian won third doubles by default.

Tuorto picked up his 40th career singles win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at first singles while Wylie and Lombardi both won by the same score at second and third singles. Widdifield earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles while freshman Peter Demyan had the same score in his fifth singles victory. Freshman Brendan Reichenbach closed the match with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at sixth singles in his first contest of the season.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 16 in a Landmark Conference match at Susquehanna University beginning at 1:00 p.m.
