Wylie Named Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior John Wylie has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Wylie helped the Greyhounds to a 2-0 week in Landmark Conference action, and he was undefeated on the court for the week as well winning a pair of matches at second singles and combining with senior Matt Tuorto for two victories at first doubles. Wylie won in straight sets in both of his singles contests with his 6-3, 6-1 win against Drew University last Wednesday coming as the clinching point in the 5-4 victory. Wylie and Tuorto are now 11-3 on the season and have combined for a school record 49 doubles wins.

"John has improved his game immeasurably since the start of the fall season," stated Head Coach Alan Heverly. "He is controlling play with his consistency and court sense. He is really beginning to come into his own and his wins this are the result of that."

Moravian, which is 8-4 overall and 2-2 in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 12 in a non-conference match at Neumann University beginning at 4:00 p.m.
