DANBURY, Conn. --- Moravian College senior thrower Trista Cunningham has been selected as the ECAC Division III Metro Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend.
Cunningham took first place in the hammer throw in the NCAA Division II/Division III portion of the Lafayette College 7-Way Meet to begin the outdoor season with an ECAC qualifying toss of 43.61 meters (143-1). Cunningham also placed fourth in the discus with a toss of 35.76 meters (117-4), and she finished ninth in the shot put at 9.47 meters (31-1).
"We're glad to have Trista back from the basketball team because she's an incredible athlete who already has, and can continue to help our program in so many ways," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "She had a big PR in the hammer this past weekend and had one of her better throws in the discus just one week into the season."
Moravian, which was second of the four NCAA DII/DIII teams at the Lafayette 7-Way Meet, is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 1 at the Muhlenberg College Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m.
