Danoski Selected as ECAC Division III Metro Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. --- Moravian College freshman Carly Danoski has been selected as the ECAC Division III Metro Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week for her performance last Saturday.

Danoski, who was honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday, captured first place in the 800-meter run during the non-scoring Greyhound Invitational hosted by Moravian. She posted a winning time of 2:19.07, which qualified her for the 2017 ECAC Division III Championships and is the fourth best time in the Landmark Conference this spring.

"Carly had some good practice for tactical racing last Saturday," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "The race went out much slower than we'd like at almost 70 seconds but she took command of the field and had her typical strong kick to win the heat and negative split. She knows she can run much faster, we just have to get her in the right race, but again, we were encouraged by her ability to run well when the race wasn't set up ideally."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 22 at the Misericordia University Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m.
