BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis squad posted a 9-0 non-conference sweep of Cedar Crest College in the Greyhounds' 2021-22 home opener at Hoffman Courts Sunday.
How It Happened
- Moravian swept the doubles action to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Junior Julianne Cassady and Cristina Merone posted an 8-0 victory at first doubles while freshman Rose Lombardo and sophomore Mara Stapleton recorded an 8-0 triumph at second doubles
- Senior Morgan Colver was the first to finish in singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles for the winning team point with her first career singles triumph for the Hounds
- Sophomore Emily Masters won by the same score at sixth singles as she picked up her first collegiate singles victory
- Junior Maddie Figiel also had a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles for the Greyhounds
- Sophomore Gabby Martin was the third member of the Blue & Grey to record her first career singles win as she posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at fifth singles
- Sophomore Megan O'Brien was the last Greyhound to finish on the courts as she won 7-5, 6-2 at fourth singles for the first singles win of her Moravian career
- Moravian would earn points by forfeit wins at third doubles and first singles in the contest
