TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior Maddie Figiel has been honored the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Figiel, who earned her second conference honor of the spring, helped Moravian to a 6-3 Landmark Conference win over Elizabethtown in the Greyhounds only match of the week. Figiel earned a win at second doubles with junior Cristina Merone before winning in straight sets at third singles.
"I am very happy that Maddie was named Athlete of the Week again," said Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. "She is 100% focused on playing her best tennis every time she steps on the court. I am extremely proud of her efforts at practices and matches."
The Greyhounds, who are 9-3 overall and 2-2 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 23 when the squad hosts Juniata College on Senior Day in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts.
