CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis program earned its third straight victory, defeating host DeSales University, 6-3, in non-conference action Saturday as the Greyhounds closed out the fall portion of their 2021-22 schedule.
How It Happened
- The Hounds had a 2-1 lead after doubles play with the team of senior Morgan Colver and junior Maddie Figiel posting an 8-4 victory at second doubles to start the contest. Juniors Julianne Cassady and Cristina Merone earned the second team point with an 8-4 win at first doubles
- The Bulldogs won the first two singles contests to finish to take a 3-2 lead
- Figiel evened the match back at 3-3 as she won 6-3, 6-3 at third singles, and sophomore Megan O'Brien put the Blue and Grey in the lead for good with a three-set triumph at sixth singles
- Freshman Rose Lombardo earned the winning team point with a 6-2, 6-4 win at fifth singles while Merone finished off the match with a 7-5, 6-4 victory at fourth singles
