TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior Maddie Figiel has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Figiel helped Moravian to a 5-4 win over NCAA Division II Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon as the Greyhounds began their 2022 spring schedule. She had a straight sets victory at third singles and a triumph at second doubles with junior Cristina Merone.

"Maddie is off to a great start this spring season after earning both a singles and doubles win over the weekend, said Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. "She is one of the most competitive players that we have on our team, and I am confident she will have a successful season this year."

Moravian, which is 4-1 on the season, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 1 in a non-conference match at Muhlenberg College beginning at 3:30 p.m.
