TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior Morgan Colver and juniors Julianne Cassady and Maddie Figiel have been selected to the 2022 Landmark Women's Tennis All-Conference Second Team.

The trio led the Hounds to a 14-4 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the Landmark Conference regular season that earned the Blue & Grey the third seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament. Moravian would defeat second seed Goucher College in the Semifinals to advance to the championship contest for the third straight tournament before falling to top seed Drew University to finish out the year.

Cassady, who earned her first postseason awards, made the Second Team in both singles and doubles. Cassady had a 7-10 mark in singles action while playing in the top spot in the Moravian line-up, and she combined with Colver for a 9-5 mark in at first doubles.

"Jules has the toughest challenge on the team playing at the very top of the line-up against quality opponents," commented Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. "It's great to see her being recognized by our conference for her efforts on the court. She is a great teammate and is always looking for ways to get better on and off the court. I know she will continue to develop into a more well-rounded player and confident individual."

Colver, who made the Second Team in doubles and joined the Greyhounds for her first year with the program, was 8-10 in singles action while playing second singles.

"I am happy for Jules and Morgan to be recognized for their performance at No. 1 doubles," Freitas said. "They both have different personalities, and it took time for them to adjust to each other. They became a better and stronger team towards the end of the season. Through their doubles wins, they were able to build momentum and inspire confidence for the rest of the team going into singles play."

Figiel, who was the 2021 Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Tournament Most Valuable Player and was selected to the All-Conference Second Team in singles, posted a 16-1 record at third singles, and she teamed with junior Cristina Merone on a 14-0 doubles mark in the second doubles position.

"Maddie is absolutely deserving of this recognition," stated Freitas. "Maddie had an outstanding year as she only dropped one singles match all season. Although she played at a much higher position in the line-up compared to last year, she was able to rise to the challenge and become a stronger player. She is a true competitor, and she was a guaranteed win for us at No. 3 singles."
