Greyhounds Shut Out Penn State Abington for 7th Straight Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis squad earned its seventh straight victory with a 6-0 victory over visiting Penn State-Abington in non-conference action in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds swept the doubles action with 8-0 scores at all three flights. Juniors Maddie Figiel and Cristina Merone earned the first point at second doubles while sophomore Mara Stapleton and freshman Rose Lombardo won at third doubles. Senior Morgan Colver and junior Julianne Cassady finished the sweep at first doubles
  • With the match being played indoors, the Blue and Grey headed to singles action needing just two points for the victory. Two matches ended at nearly the same time for the 6-0 final. Figiel recorded a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at third singles while Colver won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles to clinch the win. Moments later, Cassady was victorious by the same 6-0 6-0 score at first singles to complete the contest
