Head shots of Madison Amy, Kayla Yoegel and Morgan Amy for women's basketball team captains release.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's basketball program has named senior Kayla Yoegel and juniors Madison Amy and Morgan Amy as its captains for the 2021-22 season.

"We are happy to announce Kayla Yoegel '22, Maddie Amy '23 and Morgan Amy '23 as the captains for the 2021-22 campaign," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk, who is entering her 35th season leading the Greyhounds. "All three have exceptional work ethic and show strong leadership on and off the court. In four years, Kayla has steadily increased her production on both sides of the court, and we look for a strong senior year from her. As a point guard, Morgan is a natural leader, and we will depend on her to direct the offense and set the pace. Maddie is a shooter who has worked tirelessly on her shot in the off season; we will need her to continue to expand her production as she did from year one to year two. Overall, our young team is in good hands with these three guiding them."

Yogel, who was selected to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team after the abbreviated 2020-21 season, enters the season with 339 points, 191 rebounds, 51 blocked shots, 41 assists and 40 steals in 53 games with Moravian. She is a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Madison Amy earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team last season, and she has contributed 269 points, 80 rebounds, 60 assists and 46 steals in 35 career contests. She was also named to the 2021 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Morgan Amy garnered selection to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in 2021, and she has 180 points, 109 assists, 92 rebounds, 32 steals and 14 blocked shots in 35 games during her career. She was honored on the 2021 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to start the 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday, November 10 with a non-conference game versus Dickinson College with tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
