TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior first baseman Brett Moyer has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week for his performance last week.

Moyer led the Greyhounds at the plate in the season-opening 3-1 weekend against Juniata College. He hit .462 by going 6-for-13 to go along with five runs, a double, a triple, seven RBIs, a walk, two HBP, a .563 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage. Moyer opened the year with a 3-for-3 game with three runs, a double, a triple and six RBIs, and he added a two-hit game in the first contest on Sunday. Moyer also recorded 36 putouts in the field in 36 chances at first base and was part of two double plays.

"Brett just came back three days prior to our first game, due to quarantine, but was committed to helping us play over the weekend," commented Head Coach Paul Engelhardt. "Without being at his best, he simply competed and helped lead his team. His results are secondary to his want and leadership. Those qualities aren't measurable by any metric. He deserves this award, he earned it, and I know he is appreciative of it. We simply couldn't have played without him, and certainly would not have been successful without his contributions against a very good and determined Juniata team. I'm certain he is thankful to his teammates and the conference for being able to play baseball for over a year."

Moravian, which is 3-1 this season, is slated to return to action on Saturday, March 27 when the Greyhounds host The University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
