Wells Currently Leading NCAA DIII Field Hockey in Assists Per Game

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Moravian University junior midfielder Emily Wells enters the second half of the 2021 regular season leading all of NCAA Division III field hockey in assists per game with an average of 1.38 through the first nine contests of the season.

Wells has recorded 11 assists, tying the Greyhounds' single season record set by Stacee Cupples in 2004, which is also the last time Moravian was 7-2 to start the year. Overall, the Greyhounds rank fourth in the nation as a team in assists per contest at 3.22, and the Blue and Grey are 12th in points per game at 10.56.

Senior forward Ava Edwards also ranks in the top ten nationally through nine games in points per game, where she is sixth at an average of 3.33, and in goals per game, where she is seventh at 1.33 per contest.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Tuesday, October 5 when the squad hosts Delaware Valley University in a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
