BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad tied the program record with its tenth win of the season as the Greyhounds defeated visiting Elizabethtown College, 5-1, under the lights on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening in Landmark Conference action as the Hounds captured their sixth consecutive victory.

How It Happened

  • The Blue Jays scored the opening goal of the match just 4:11 into the contest on a penalty corner
  • Moravian would even the score in the 12th minute when sophomore midfielder Sarah Bietka tapped in a long shot from junior midfielder Maddie Call
  • The Greyhounds took the lead for good four minutes into the second quarter as junior midfielder Emily Wells netted a goal on a spinning shot that went inside the left post off another pass from Call
  • Moravian made it 3-1 just a minute before the intermission when senior forward Ava Edwards shot in a pass from the left side by freshman forward Sydney Anderson
  • Edwards netted her second goal of the evening just 1:19 into the third quarter as sophomore forward Hanna Leto drove in from the right side and slipped a pass to Edwards in front of the goal
  • The Hounds finished off the scoring in the 55th minute as sophomore midfielder Bekkah Kehoe found the back if the goal with a tap-in of a long shot from freshman midfielder Savannah Sutter
