TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University field hockey team has had seven student-athletes selected to the 2021 Landmark All-Conference Teams with senior forward Ava Edwards being honored as one of the Landmark Conference Offensive Players of the Year.

Edwards also garnered a spot on the All-Conference First Team along with junior midfielder Emily Wells, sophomore defender Onalee Long and freshman forward Sydney Anderson. The Greyhounds had senior defender Emily Brandt, junior midfielder Maddie Call and junior goalie Brooke Wilkinson selected to the All-Conference Second Team with all seven student-athletes earning All-Conference accolades for the first time in their careers.

Moravian, under the direction of second year Head Coach Sarah Dalrymple who was in her first year on the field due to the pandemic, completed its best season in program history in 2021 as the program posted a 14-3 overall mark and earned the top seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament with a 6-1 conference regular season record. The tournament berth was Moravian's first-ever in the 15-year history of the Landmark Conference and the program's first trip to the postseason since 1987. The Hounds broke the previous school record of 10 victories and also set records for road victories with seven, goals with 60, assists with 42, and points with 162. The squad also set a mark for the longest winning streak at ten matches and tied the record for wins at home with seven.

"For Moravian to have seven individuals on All-Conference teams is a tremendous accomplishment for the program," stated Dalrymple. "This recognition is a direct reflection of all of the hard work the group has put into raising the level of Moravian Field Hockey. "Ava has been incredibly strong for us on attack this fall," Dalrymple commented. "She's a player that has a nose for the goal and knows how to finish. Whether it's her corner strike or immediate pressure while pressing, Ava always has a presence on the field. It's been extremely rewarding to see how she's progressed throughout the season."
