BROCKPORT, N.Y. --- Moravian University senior forward Ava Edwards has been selected to the 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-Region V Second Team.

Edwards was honored as one of the Landmark Conference Field Hockey Offensive Athletes of the Year, the first major postseason award for a Greyhound, and she was also one of four Greyhounds named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team after Moravian had the best season in program history with the squad posting a 14-3 overall mark and earning the top seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament with a 6-1 conference regular season record. The tournament berth was Moravian's first-ever in the 15-year history of the Landmark Conference and the program's first trip to the postseason since 1987. The Hounds broke the previous school record of 10 victories and set records for road victories with seven, goals with 60, assists with 42, and points with 162. The squad also set a mark for the longest winning streak at ten matches and tied the record for wins at home with seven.

Edwards led Moravian in scoring in 2021 with 40 points on 16 goals and eight assists, and she netted two game-winning goals. She completed her Moravian career with 21 goals and ten assists for 52 points in 51 matches.

"We're extremely excited for Ava to be named an All-Region player this season," stated second year Head Coach Sarah Dalrymple, who was in her first year on the field due to the pandemic. "Her production and ability to finish was crucial to the success Moravian field hockey achieved this past season."
