Moravian to Host Catholic in Landmark Conference Semifinal at John Makuvek Field on November 3

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey team has earned the top seed in the 2021 Landmark Conference Tournament and will host fourth seed The Catholic University of America in a semifinal match on Wednesday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.

Admission to Wednesday's match is $7 for adults and $4 for minors ages 10-17 and seniors 62 and older. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID.

The winner of the semifinal match will play the winner of the other semifinal contest between second seed The University of Scranton and third seed Susquehanna University on Saturday, November 6 at the highest remaining seed for the conference title and a berth to the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.

The Greyhounds, who are 14-2 overall and were 6-1 in the Landmark Conference regular season, are under the direction of second-year Head Coach Sarah Dalrymple, who is in her first season on the field with the 2020 campaign cancelled by the pandemic.

Moravian is having a historic season in 2021 with the program earning its first-ever Landmark Conference Tournament appearance and the first postseason berth for the Greyhounds since 1987. The 14 wins in 2021 are four more than the previous program best, and the Blue and Grey's current 10-match winning streak is longer than the previous mark of eight contest that had been set back in 1992. Moravian has also posted school records this fall for goals scored with 58, assists with 42, points with 158, wins on the road with seven and tied wins at home with seven.

Senior forward Ava Edwards leads the Greyhounds with 16 goals and eight assists after setting school records with five goals and 12 points in a 10-0 win at Neumann University. Freshman forward Sydney Anderson has 15 goals to go with three assists while junior midfielder Emily Wells has contributed eight goals and a team-leading and school record 12 assists.

Junior midfielder Maddie Call has added six goals and six assists while sophomore midfielder Sarah Bietka has five goals and three assists. Sophomore midfielder Bekkah Kehoe has four goals and two assists while sophomore forward Hanna Leto has contributed two goals and three assists. Sophomore defender/midfielder Onalee Long has netted one goal and added two assists while freshman midfielder Alaina Schmid has one goal and one assist. Junior midfielder Mackenzie Jakobsen and freshman defender/midfielder Savannah Sutter each have one assist.

Junior goalie Brooke Wilkinson has recorded 65 saves and has a 1.12 goals-against average, five shutouts and a 14-2 record in 968 minutes of action. Long has made four defensive saves while senior defender Emily Brandt has recorded three defensive saves. Junior defender Elise Keeney, Call and Sutter have each made one defensive save this fall.

Moravian's last loss this fall came to Catholic when the two teams met on John Makuvek Field on September 18 to begin the Landmark Conference season with the Cardinals earning a 3-2 win with two goals in the final 4:45 of action.
