Greyhounds Fall at Lebanon Valley in Non-Conference Acton

ANNVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's basketball squad fell to host Lebanon Valley College, 61-34, in non-conference action to head into the holiday break

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored first on a jumper from junior guard Juliana Vassallo on the opening possession. Neither team led by more than two points with the Blue & Grey up 12-10 after a jumper from senior forward Brielle Guarente at the 3:21 mark. LVC scored the final points of the quarter to knot the score at 12-12 after ten minutes action
  • The Flying Dutchmen hit the opening basket of the second period before junior guard Jayda Cartagena connected on a free throw to make it 14-13 in the opening minute of the quarter. However, Lebanon Valley ran off 15 straight points to build a 29-13 advantage at the intermission
  • LVC outscored the Hounds, 18-15, in the third quarter and, 14-6, in the fourth quarter to lead the rest of the contest

Inside the Numbers

  • Sophomore guard/forward Lizzie Lustig led Moravian with eight points, five rebounds and a pair of assists
  • Guarente, Vassallo and graduate student forward Sam Osorio all netted six points with Guarente adding four rebounds and Osorio grabbing five boards
  • Junior forward Kania Day, senior guard Mikayla Anderson and freshman guard Ellie Wallbillich all had two points with Day and Anderson each contributing three rebounds
  • The Blue & Grey were 14-for-51 from the field, 2-for-10 on three-pointers and 4-for-10 at the foul line in the contest
