TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University graduate student forward Sam Osorio has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Osorio had her second double-double of the season and 18th of her career in Moravian's 65-56 win over Saint Elizabeth University in the opening round of the 21st Steel Club Classic in Johnston Hall Sunday afternoon. Osorio has 12 points and 11 rebounds to go with two steals and an assist. She shot 5-for-11 from the field and 2-for-4 at the foul line while playing 24 minutes.
"Sam's impressive double-double performance led the team to a big win and earned her the title of Landmark Player of the Week," commented acting Head Coach Kelly Fallara. "We hope to continue this trend moving into conference play."
The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 4 when Moravian hosts rival Muhlenberg College in a non-conference game beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
