Men's Indoor Track & Field Competes at Lehigh University Fast Times Before FInals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field squad opened up its 2015-16 indoor seasons at the Lehigh University Fast Times Before Finals on Saturday in Rauch Fieldhouse.

Junior Kahron Walker paced the Greyhounds as he was the runner-up in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 2.00 meters (6-6.75), third in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 6.82 meters (22-4.5) and 10th in the triple jump at 12.84 meters (42-1.5). Senior Gavin Bailey was fourth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 6.74 meters (22-1.5) while junior Kyle Hagerty took 12th at 6.18 meters (20-3.5). Freshman Scott Goodwin was eighth in his first collegiate pole vault at 3.90 meters (12-9.5).

In the throws, junior Greg Cahill placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 14.04 meters (46-0.75), and he was eighth in the 35-pound weight throw at 14.80 meters (48-6.75). Sophomore Jack Lippin was ninth in the weight throw at 14.53 meters (47-8), and he finished 12th in the shot put at 13.18 meters (43-3).

On the track for the men, junior Austin Gardener placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in 23.33 seconds, and he tied for 10th in the 60-meter dash with junior Matt Barnett as both student-athletes ran times of 7.24 seconds. Sophomore Eric Morton was tied for 15th in the 60-meter dash in 7.29 seconds while senior Tyler Dwyer was 12th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.72 seconds. Senior Ryan Sickler placed 10th in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.00 seconds.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday, December 11 in the Wagner College Seahawk Invitational that will be competed at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island N.Y.
