Walker Honored as Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior jumper Kahron Walker has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Susquehanna University Crusader Challenge this past Saturday.

Walker finished third in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying height of 1.93 meters (6-4) at the meet. Walker's best jump of the season 2.00 meters (6-6.75) has him currently tied for 20th on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list, and the top 15 student-athletes in each event will go on to compete at the 2016 NCAA Division III National Championships in March.

"Kahron had a decent day, although to be honest he was hoping for a little more as we've shifted focus in practice more towards the high jump instead of the horizontals," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He had some good practices this week, clearing the same bar during the week, and his clearance at the first two bars on Saturday looked really good and show he had the ability to be back above two meters again."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 13 when the squad heads to the Monmouth University Invitational.
