Munson Honored as Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week Again

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College graduate student Parker Munson has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Coach P Open Sunday.

Munson, who earned his second Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week award this spring, set a pair of school records in the meet as well as a Landmark Conference record. Munson set the Moravian record and placed fourth in the shot put with an ECAC qualifying toss of 15.56 meters (51-0.75), a mark that is 23rd on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list with the top 20 males in each event making the NCAA Championships in late May. He broke the previous school record by 10.75 inches.

Munson was also third in the discus with a personal best, school record, Landmark Conference record and ECAC qualifying toss of 46.33 meters (152-0), and he placed tenth in the hammer throw at 42.85 meters (140-7). He passed his previous school record in the discus by 11 inches.

"We said in February after Monmouth that Parker may have had his best meet ever, but I think this weekend pretty clearly trumped that with two school records (shot put and discus) and a third PR in the hammer as well," commented Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He's always been focused and driven, but this year he's taken his commitment to a new level and clearly it shows with what he's doing in the throws."

Moravian is slated to return to action its second straight home meet this weekend as Hounds host the Annual Greyhound Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April1 15-16 with competition beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
